    摘要: A multipole jack (1) includes a main body (2) and a case (3). The substantially cylindrical main body (2) includes terminal bases (21a to 21i) which make contact with electrodes of a multipole plug. Connecting ends (212a to 212i) of the terminal bases (21a to 21i) are led out from the main body (2). The main body (2) is attached to the substantially bottomed cylindrical resin case (3) through an opening (31) of the case. Inner ends (341a to 341i) of extension terminals (34a to 34i) which protrude from side walls (35) of the case (3) and are insert-molded are electrically connected to the connecting ends (212a to 212i) of the corresponding terminal bases (21a to 21i) . Therefore, it is possible to further increase a battery size of an electronic device in which a multipole jack is provided by decreasing an entire length of the multipole jack, and to meet the demand for reducing the size of a multipole jack by reducing the length of terminals provided therein even if the number of poles increases.

    摘要: A method of shielding an implantable medical lead, comprising providing an inner layer of insulation establishing an axial dimension, the inner layer surrounding at one conductive filar; providing a shield over the inner layer of insulation, the shield comprising at least six metal wires forming a braid about the inner layer of insulation with at least three of the at least six wires being coiled in the first direction and at least three of the at least six wires being coiled in the second direction, the metal wires each having a dimension that faces outward from the inner layer within a range from 0.5 to 2.5 mils (0.013 - 0.065 mm), providing an outer layer of insulation over the shield with the outer layer of insulation being adhered to the inner layer of insulation through openings within the braid formed by the metal wires; providing at least one proximal electrode on a proximal end of the inner layer of insulation and at least one distal electrode on distal end of the inner layer of insulation, with the at least one conductive filar establishing an electrical pathway between the at least one proximal electrode and the at least one distal electrode.
