摘要: A deformed wire for reinforcing a marine optical fiber cable used for the pressure-proof layer of the marine optical fiber cable and having a high strength of 1800 MPa or higher in tensile strength, characterized in that, by mass %, the requirement of 0.80 ≤ Ceq ≤ 1.80% is satisfied where C is 0.65 to 1.1% and Ceq = C + 1/4 Si + 1/5 Mn + 4/13 Cr, the number of shearing bands crossing the center axis of L-section is 20 pieces/mm or less per unit length of the center axis, an angle formed by the center axis and the shearing bands is within the range of 10 to 90°, the tensile strength is 1800 MPa or higher, the cross section is formed generally in a sector shape, a plurality of the generally sector shapes are combined with each other to form a circular hollow cross section for storing optical fibers, the surface is formed in an irregular satin-finished surface with a depth of 0.2 to 5μm, and welding parts are provided at least at one position in longitudinal direction.
