摘要:
The present invention provides a method for aligning film sheets (15) and rectangular panels (W) in a continuous manufacturing system of display panels, each of the film sheets (15) being formed between two longitudinally adjacent slit lines (16), one on an upstream side and the other on a downstream side, and extending in a transverse direction with respect to a feeding direction of a strip shaped film laminate (10) , such that the rectangular panels (W) conveyed to the lamination position are overlapped with the film sheets (15) conveyed to the lamination position. The method includes steps of; angularly adjusting the rectangular panel (W) conveyed to the lamination position such that a center line extending in the feeding direction of the rectangular panels is parallel to the center line extending in the feeding direction of the film sheets (15) conveyed to the lamination position; and position adjusting the angularly adjusted rectangular panels (W) by shifting for a displacement from a position of the film sheets (15) conveyed to the lamination position.

An information storage/readout device for use in a system for continuously manufacturing liquid-crystal display elements comprises an information storage medium which stores therein slitting position information (80) created based on the position of a defect detected by an inspection of a continuous polarizing composite film included in a continuous optical film laminate including a continuous polarizing composite film formed with an adhesive layer and a continuous carrier film releasably laminated on the adhesive layer, to indicate defective-polarizing-sheet slitting positions defining a defective or defect-containing polarizing sheet, and normal-polarizing-sheet slitting positions defining a normal or defect-free polarizing sheet, in the continuous inspected optical film laminate, and a roll of the continuous inspected optical film laminate which is provided with an identification indicia. In continuous manufacturing of liquid-crystal display elements, the present invention can dramatically enhance product accuracy and manufacturing speed and drastically improve product yield.

Provided is a system for producing a rectangular optical display device, which enables to adhere a first polarizing optical film and a second polarizing optical film to opposed surfaces of a rectangular optical display unit by using two rolls. The producing system comprises a first cutting and bonding unit for cutting a first polarizing optical film (F11) having a width corresponding to the shorter side of the rectangular display unit to a length corresponding to the longer side of the rectangular display unit, and a second cutting and bonding unit for cutting a second optical film (F21) having a width corresponding to the longer side of the rectangular display unit to a length corresponding to the shorter side of the rectangular display unitto to a predetermined length. A turning unit is adapted to carry out an in-plane turning of the display unit from a first orientation in any one of the first cutting and bonding unit and the second cutting and bonding unit to a second substantially perpendicular orientation in the other cutting and bonding unit.

The present invention provides a method for continuously manufacturing liquid-crystal display elements by laminating sheets of polarizing composite film (10) to respective ones of a plurality of liquid-crystal panels, the sheet being formed by cutting a continuous web of an optical film laminate having a width corresponding to a long or short side of the liquid crystal panel. The method comprises steps of; continuously feeding an optical film laminate (10), calculating a length measurement data based on the feed length of the optical film laminate, detecting a mark provided to the optical film laminate indicating defect information in a polarizing composite film being detected in a preliminary inspection, sequentially forming slit lines in a transverse direction with respect to the feed direction of the optical film laminate, determining the polarizing composite film sheet separated by the respective slit lines is a defective polarizing sheet or a normal polarizing sheet, peeling a sheet determined to be a normal polarizing sheet from the carrier film, and laminating the normal polarizing sheet to a respective one of liquid-crystal panel.

Provided are a material roll usable for bonding a polarizing plate to a surface of an optical display unit and a method of producing the same. The material roll has a wound-up long-sheet material (F1) in which an optical film (F11) including a polarizing layer (F11a), a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (F14) and a release film (F12) are laminated in this order. The long sheet material (F1) is wound up in a state where the absorption axis of the polarizing layer (F11a) is parallel to the elongation direction of the long-sheet material (F1) and at a width corresponding to a short side or a long side of an optical display unit (W).
