摘要: An apparatus run-length encodes data to obtain a sequence of records. The data are associate to grid points of a grid and the records are defined such that they allow embedding data associated to a same grid point and representing pieces of information of at least two different types in a same record. The encoded data may be stored or transmitted. When receiving or retrieving such run-length encoded data in a sequence of records, the data may be run-length decoded to obtain decoded data and an association of the decoded data to the grid points of the grid.

摘要: A system for creating a representation of a location based on information sensed at the location. For example, apparatuses may comprise various sensors that sense apparatus-related information (e.g., motion, direction, etc.) while also visual, signal, field, etc. information pertaining to a location. Apparatuses may store sensed information about the apparatus while at a particular location, and about the particular location itself, in a mapping database, which may then associate the various types of sensed information with information already stored in the database in order to create a representation of the location.

摘要: For supporting a satellite based positioning of a mobile arrangement (30,40) with assistance data, a communication network converts parameters of a dedicated orbit model describing a movement of a satellite (50,60), which dedicated orbit model is defined for a particular satellite based positioning system, into parameters of a common orbit model describing a movement of a satellite (50,60). Alternatively or in addition, the network replaces a reference value that is based on a satellite based positioning system time in available parameters of an orbit model by a reference value that is based on a communication system time. After the parameter conversion and/or the reference value replacement, the parameters are provided as a part of assistance data for the satellite based positioning. Alternatively or in addition, a set of data is transmitted in one direction between the mobile arrangement and the communication network, which is independent of the employed positioning mode.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for determining in a positioning system the position of a receiver and/or an accurate system time. The receiver receives and tracks code modulated signals transmitted by beacons of the positioning system and comprising a known regularity. In order to enable an improved positioning, it is proposed that the method comprises establishing a grid covering the area 20 of earth which is visible by a plurality of beacons from which said receiver receives and tracks code modulated signals at a specific reference time instance. The method further comprises determining the position of the receiver and/or the system time based on measured code phases of code modulated signals received and tracked by the receiver, on available assistance data and on at least a selected one of the intersection points of the grid as reference location. The invention relates equally to corresponding devices and a corresponding positioning system.

摘要: For enhancing the transmission of time related information, a message is received or assembled, which includes a reference time identifier. The received or assembled message is provided for transmission. At a receiving end, the reference time identifier and additional information are extracted from a received message, and the additional information is processed taking account of the reference time identifier. Alternatively or in addition, the message may include a reference time, which is indicated in units of seconds.

摘要: The invention relates to a navigation systems and elements. A network element (M) comprises a receiver (M.2.2) for forming assistance data relating to at least one navigation system. The network element (M) inserts indication of the navigation system and a selected mode into the assistance data and constructs the assistance data according to the selected mode. The network element (M) has a transmitting element (M.3.1) for transmitting the assistance data via a communications network (P) to a device (R). The device (R) comprises a positioning receiver (R.3) for performing positioning on the basis of one or more signals of said at least one satellite navigation system; a receiver (R.2.2) for receiving the assistance data from the network element (M); and an examining element (R.1.1) adapted to examine the received assistance data. Said assistance data is adapted to be used by the positioning receiver for performing positioning of the device (R).

摘要: The invention relates to method for validating detected code modulated signals transmitted by beacons of a positioning system and received by a receiver. In order to enable such a validation, it is proposed that the method comprises as a first step performing measurements for the detected beacon signals. Then, at least one of the detected beacon signals is selected as calibration signal. In a next step, at least one allowed range for results of measurements for detected beacon signals other than said calibration signal are determined based on measurements for the detected calibration signal and on an available reference position of the receiver. Finally, each detection of a beacon signal for which results of performed measurements are outside of an allowed range is rejected. The invention relates equally to a corresponding receiver, to an electronic device comprising such a receiver, to a device cooperating with such a receiver and to a corresponding positioning system.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for determining the correlation between a signal transmitted by a beacon and tracked by a received and a reconstructed signal expected to be received at the received, wherein the received signal and the reconstructed signal are shifted against each other. In order to provide a possibility of compensating residual sinusoidal modulations in the tracked signal, it is proposed that at each shifting position, the samples of the received and the reconstructed signal are multiplied and integrated separately in a plurality of sections. The results are multiplied with a shifted and complex conjugated version of itself. The products resulting in this second multiplication are integrated to receive a single final value for each shifting position. Finally, the maximum final value resulting for the different shifting positions is determined, the shifting position with the maxiumum value being considered as the shifting position with the maximum correlation.
