The disclosure pertains to the information displays, in particular liquid crystal displays, and could be used in means of indicatory technology of various purpose, as well as in optical modulators and matrix systems of light modulation, etc. LC display contains two parallel plates with electrodes and polarizers, which are connected around the periphery while forming a cavity filled with liquid crystal, and the joining of the plates is made detachable. The main technical result of the disclosed invention is the fact that joining of the plates is performed with ready-made fastening elements, which are formed on the plates beforehand and would not deform during assembly, and therefore do not change their position on the plate - they do not shift, discontinue, nor do they aggressively affect elements of the display during gluing. Besides that, technical result of the disclosed invention is the fact that the fastening elements simultaneously work as the liquid crystal layer thickness limiting elements, which is determined prior to display assembly, and which distinguishes it from the known analogues.

The present invention pertains to the field of electronic devices and essentially relates to smart cards (electronic cards) including a display that comprises a liquid-crystal indication element with an internal polarizer. This invention also relates to a method for manufacturing this card. The purpose of this invention is to simplify the structure of the electronic card, to provide a single process for manufacturing the card together with the display, to reduce the thickness of the card, to improve the mechanical strength, the manufacturability and the economical characteristics of said card and to increase its reliability.

The invention belongs to the class of thermostable and lightfast dichroic polarizers made using thin films of dichroic organic substances, in particular, the organic dyes in which molecules of a dichroic organic substance are ordered in a crystalline lattice and which are deposited onto either a rigid or a flexible substrate surface. The technical result consists in the fact of widening the spectral range of the polarizer operation and in simultaneous improvement of the polarizer's polarizing characteristics. The proposed dichroic polarizer is manufactured using the film which at least partially has the crystal structure and which contains at least one dichroic organic substance with the planar-structure molecules (or molecule fragments). The dichroic substance is selected such as to have at least one maximum in each of the following regions of the absorption spectrum curve: 400-700 nm and/or 200-400 nm, and 0.7-13 microns. The film order parameter S corresponding to at least one maximum in the 0.7-13 micron region of the absorption spectrum curve is no less than 0.88. This parameter is calculated from the expression S=(D ⊥ -D 11 )/(D ⊥ +2D 11 ), where D ⊥ and D 11 are the optical densities measured in the polarized light when, correspondingly, the polarizer's polarization axis is perpendicular and parallel, respectively, to the polarization plane of the spectrometer electromagnetic radiation.

The invention belongs to polarizing devices and can be used in lighting equipment, manufacturing construction-material glasses, and in displays. The proposed dichroic polarizer includes a substrate and at least one layer dichroically absorbing electromagnetic radiation, into which two reflecting coatings are introduced, at least one of which is made partially transmitting. The layer dichroically absorbing electromagnetic radiation is located between the reflecting coatings. The materials and thicknesses of layers of both the dichroically absorbing electromagnetic radiation and the reflecting coatings are selected from the requirements to obtain, at the exit of the dichroic polarizer, an interference minimum for the absorbing component of electromagnetic radiation for, at least, one wavelength value. The invention leads to increasing efficiency of dichroic polarizers at the expense of increasing degree of polarization of electromagnetic radiation leaving the polarizer, while high transmission (reflection) coefficient for the non-absorbed component is preserved 5 formulas, 3 illustrations.

The inventive data display module contains a liquid crystal display consisted of two in-plane plates with electrodes and polarizers, whereby a liquid crystal and a supply cell which is electrically connected to the display are located between said plates. The supply cell, which consists of as at least one solar element or a battery of solar cells, is located or formed on the rear side of the display plate, whereby the display elements located on the light-receiving side of the cell are at least partially made of optically transparent materials. A touch screen and/or a graphic tablet can be formed on the front side of the display.

The invention belongs to display units, in particular, to liquid crystal (LC) displays, and can be used in display/indicator equipment of various purposes, as well as in optical modulators, matrix systems for light modulation, etc. A liquid crystal display is proposed containing a layer of liquid crystal placed between the front and the back plates, with one electrode and one polarizer located on each of the plates, and a layer containing a dye. As the latter dye, either a single dye emitting luminescence under action of UV radiation in the range of 400-700 nm, or a mixture of one dye emitting luminescence and one absorbing dye, is used. The purpose of the invention is to achieve greater brightness and color saturation of the image, and to increase the viewing angle of LC displays up to 180° by more effectively utilizing the emission spectrum of the radiation source, in particular, its ultra-violet band.
