    摘要: On a recording medium, a monoscopic video specific section and a stereoscopic video specific section are continuous immediately after an extended data specific section. A shared section includes a continuous, interleaved arrangement having one each of main-view extents, sub-view extents, and extended extents. The stereoscopic video specific section includes a continuous, interleaved arrangement of extents having one each of the main-view extents and the sub-view extents. The monoscopic video specific section includes a continuous arrangement of a copy of the main-view extent arranged in the stereoscopic video specific section. The extended data specific section includes one of the extended extents that is to be used in combination with the copy of the main-view extent arranged in the monoscopic video specific section. The shared section is accessed when stereoscopic video images are played back, when monoscopic video images are played back, and when an extended stream is used. The stereoscopic video specific section is accessed during playback of the stereoscopic video images. The monoscopic video specific section is accessed during playback of the monoscopic video images. The extended data specific section and the monoscopic video specific section are accessed when the extended stream is read, immediately before or after a long jump.

    摘要: To reduce the amount of data involved in coding a picture having a bit-depth higher than a bit-depth supported by an encoder, an image coding apparatus (100A) according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a down-converter (102A) which generates a base layer picture by down-converting a target picture to reduce the bit-depth of the target picture by a first value; a first encoder (111A) which codes the base layer picture, and generates a reconstructed picture by decoding the coded base layer picture; a subtractor (103A) which performs shift amount adjustment on the reconstructed picture to increase the bit-depth of the reconstructed picture by a second value, and generates, based on the reconstructed picture on which the adjustment has been performed and the target picture, an enhancement layer picture for enhancing the quality of the base layer picture; a second encoder (112A) which codes the enhancement layer picture; and an output unit (115) which outputs the coded base layer picture and the coded enhancement layer picture.
