Abstract: A method of determining a reference picture set (RPS), which is a set of reference pictures used in predictive decoding of a current picture that is to be decoded, is provided. The method includes: obtaining a flag indicating whether the RPS is determined based on picture order count (POC) values of the current picture and a previous picture or whether the RPS is determined based on an index of a reference RPS, which is an identification value of the reference RPS which is one of predefined RPSs and is referred to in determining the RPS, and a delta RPS which is a difference value between a POC vale of a reference picture included in the reference RPS and a POC value of a reference picture included in the RPS; and determining the RPS according to a value of the flag.

Abstract: A video compression method, which is executed by a computer device. The method comprises: acquiring a video to be compressed (202); for each image frame in the video, performing adaptive mapping on the basis of a feature difference between the image frame and a corresponding reference frame, and determining, according to a mapping result, a parallel processing condition corresponding to the image frame (204); when a hierarchical feature of the image frame meets the parallel processing condition, performing parallel compression and analysis on image encoding units in the image frame, so as to obtain an encoding parameter for the image frame, wherein the image encoding units are obtained by means of performing unit division on the image frame (206); and compressing the video on the basis of the encoding parameter respectively corresponding to each image frame in the video (208).

Abstract: Techniques are described for using an inter-intra-prediction block. A video coder may generate a first prediction block according to an intra-prediction mode and generate a second prediction block according to an inter-prediction mode. The video coder may weighted combine, such as based on the intra-prediction mode, the two prediction blocks to generate an inter-intra-prediction block (e.g., final prediction block). In some examples, an inter-intra candidate is identified in a list of candidate motion vector predictors, and an inter-intra-prediction block is used based on identification of the inter-intra candidate in the list of candidate motion vector predictors.
