Abstract:
In the present invention, a content distribution server distributes a content key, encrypted content encrypted using the content key, and playback control information describing a playback mode restriction for a specific section of content, to a content playback terminal, and the content playback terminal refers to the playback control information, and decodes and plays back encrypted content in the case of a playback mode in which the specific section of content is not restricted. By this means, the playback mode of a specific section of content can be restricted based on playback control information.
Abstract:
To provide a content distribution system which inhibits execution of processing which is unnecessary for streams having specific structures. The content distribution system includes a distribution server and a playback apparatus. The distribution server transmits a program stream and a program state flag associated with the program stream that indicates whether or not program content corresponding to the program stream is constituted of only 3D video. The playback apparatus determines, prior to decoding the program stream, whether or not the program state flag indicates that the program content is constituted of only 3D video, and when determining that the program content is constituted of only 3D video, decodes the program stream and performs control so as to play back the program stream as 3D video without determining whether or not each frame included in the program stream is a 3D video frame.
Abstract:
A transmission device transmits data for causing a video display device to display, in a display area, a video made up of a 3D video and a superposed display object, the transmission device comprising: a division information generator generating division information indicating a range for each of two or more regions into which the display area is divided by at least one boundary line that is horizontal; an offset information configurator generating offset information in accordance with a 3D video depth in one of the regions, the offset information indicating a region depth for 3D display of the display object in the region, and a different piece of the offset information being generated for each region; a stream generator generating a transport stream that includes the division information, the offset information, and 3D video data for displaying the 3D video; and a stream transmitter transmitting the transport stream.
Abstract:
A content distribution system capable of playing back a stream without missing out an initial frame. The content distribution system includes a distribution server and a playback apparatus. The distribution server transmits a video stream and an initial frame state flag indicating whether an initial frame of the video stream is a 3D video frame or a 2D video frame. Receiving the video stream and the initial frame state flag, the playback apparatus determines whether the initial frame is a 3D video frame or a 2D video frame by using the initial frame state flag and sets, prior to decoding the video stream, an output mode to be applied to the initial frame to a 3D output mode when the initial frame is a 3D video frame and to a 2D output mode when the initial frame is a 2D video frame.
Abstract:
An encoding device that, when encoding frame image groups which represent scenes respectively viewed from plurality of viewpoints over predetermined time period, generates base-view video stream by encoding frame image group of standard viewpoint without using, as reference image, any frame image of other viewpoints, generates first-type dependent-view video stream by encoding frame image group of first-type viewpoint by using, as reference image, frame image of same time of base-view video stream or of another first-type dependent-view video stream, first-type viewpoint being positioned such that at least one viewpoint is present between first-type viewpoint and standard viewpoint, and generates second-type dependent-view video stream by encoding frame image group of second-type viewpoint by using, as reference images, frame images of same time of two viewpoints sandwiching second-type viewpoint, second-type viewpoint being neither standard viewpoint nor first-type viewpoint.
Abstract:
The present invention allows notifications about online availability for TV programs that have been broadcast from broadcasters' web services (catch-up services). The notification functionality is integrated into an electronic program guide functionality in a manner that does not require any complicated multi-step user interaction. Users can download or watch by streaming a broadcast program that is available online via a web service upon the notification. The invention is particularly applicable for making notifications about programs availability free-of-charge.
