    摘要: A copy protection method and apparatus is disclosed. Various protection signals are added to a video signal in the vicinity of the color burst part of the signal. The protection signals are selected to interfere with the frequency down conversion process in the video recorder so that the color burst cannot be recorded properly. The protection signals are chosen so that when a modified video signal containing the original video signal and the protection signals has been recorded by a video recorder, playback of the modified video signal exhibits visual artefacts that are not visible before recording of the modified signal occurred. The protection signals are also used to carry digital control information for controlling the operation of a digital recorder.

    摘要: A resolution converter converts input image data to N types (N is a plural number) of image data having resolutions different with each other. A secret sharing unit performs secret sharing schemes so that the plurality of pieces of image data are respectively divided into n pieces (n is an integer equal to or more than N+1 and the same value in all of image data) of distributed data and the distributed data is reconstructed to original image data using k pieces (k is an integer equal to or more than 2 and equal to or less than n and different value for each piece of image data) among n pieces. A data combination unit generates n pieces of combination data by combining distributed data selected one by one so as not to overlap with each of resolutions and stores each piece of the combination data in different storages. As more pieces of distributed data are gathered, image data with higher resolutions can be reproduced and security for copyright, privacy, or the like can be secured in each piece of distributed data.

The stream(s) may be visually rendered, and fingerprint marks inserted, using the preprocessing techniques of explicit insertion, implicit insertion, and object modification. In particular, multiple media content streams of the same event and signaling information may be received by a receiver. Each media content stream of the multiple of the media content streams may include a unique rendering of the media content stream. The receiver may be associated with a unique identifier (ID). At least one media content stream of the multiple media content streams may be selected using the receiver. The selected at least one media content stream of the multiple media content streams may be provided to a display.
