An apparatus (20) for insertion and extraction of a fuel injection lance (10) into and out of a tuyere stock (1) of a shaft furnace, in particular of a blast furnace, is proposed. The tuyere stock (1) comprises a lance sheath (12) that defines an insertion/extraction axis (49) and is mounted in coaxial extension of a lance channel through which an injection lance can be inserted into the tuyere stock. The proposed apparatus comprises a linear guide (22), a carriage (24) and a mounting support (50). The carriage is movably supported by the linear guide and cooperates with a connecting device (42) for connecting an injection lance to the carriage such that the injection lance can be moved axially along a translation axis by the carriage. The linear guide comprises a mechanism (36; 38) for linearly moving the carriage along a guide axis (35) and a first coupling half (64; 65; 66) for mounting the linear guide (22) to the mounting support attached to the tuyere stock. The mounting support (50) has a second coupling half (57; 58; 62) cooperating with the first coupling half (64; 65; 66) of the linear guide for removably attaching the linear guide to the tuyere stock. The mounting support (50) and the coupling halves (57; 58; 62; 64; 65; 66) orient an attached linear guide (22) so that the guide axis (35) of the linear guide in parallel to the insertion/extraction axis (49) and so that the translation axis of an injection lance (10) connected to the carriage (24) is coaxial with the insertion/extraction axis (49).

The delivery device (34, 26, 28, 50) is configured such that it introduces the blast furnace gas into the pressurized tank (14) in an axial direction. A swirl device (58) with guide vanes (66) is positioned below the axial delivery device (34, 26, 28, 50) and causes the blast furnace gas which is axially introduced into the pressurized tank (14) to swirl about the axis (30) of said pressurized tank (14).

The tuyere stock arrangement (10) also comprises an injection lance (40) for feeding a combustible, generally pulverized or granular coal, into the blast furnace at the tuyere level, the injection lance (40) being an coaxial lance comprising an outer pipe and an inner pipe, coaxially arranged within the outer pipe, the outer and inner pipes being arranged for separately conveying oxidizing gas and said combustible, the inner pipe forming a separation wall for separating said combustible from the oxidizing gas. According to an important aspect of the invention, the injection lance (40) is removably arranged in a lance passage (42) formed in the tuyere body (20), the lance passage (42) being arranged between the inner wall (30) and the outer wall (22) of the tuyere body (20) and extending from the rear face (26) to the front face (24), the lance passage (42) opening into a front lace (24) of the tuyere body (20).
