摘要:
The invention provides DNA compositions that relate to transgenic insect resistant maize plants. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the maize DAS-59122-7 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are provided.

This invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding a RNA-directed RNA polymerase. The invention also relates to the construction of a chimeric gene encoding all or a substantial portion of the RNA-directed RNA polymerase, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric gene results in production of altered levels of the RNA-directed RNA polymerase in a transformed host cell.

Compositions and methods related to transgenic glyphosate/ALS inhibitor- tolerant maize plants are provided. Specifically, the present invention provides maize plants having a DP-098140-6 event which imparts tolerance to glyphosate and at least one ALS-inhibiting herbicide. The maize plant harboring the DP-098140-6 event at the recited chromosomal location comprises genomic/transgene junctions having at least the polynucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5 and/or 6. The characterization of the genomic insertion site of the DP-098140-6 event provides for an enhanced breeding efficiency and enables the use of molecular markers to track the trans gene insert in the breeding populations and progeny thereof. Various methods and compositions for the identification, detection, and use of the maize DP-098140-6 events are provided.

Methods are provided that diminish UDPGdH expression in plant cells as compared to wild-type plant cells. These methods find use in increasing the nutritional value of animal feed and improving processes for extraction of starch from plant seeds. Also provided are expression vectors capable of diminishing UDPGdH expression in plant cells, and transgenic plants expressing diminished levels of UDPGdH.
