摘要: An apparatus and method for allocating a data flow based on selection criteria including receiving at least one policy including at least one indication for selecting an access from two or more of available accesses; determining a selection criterion based on the data flow; and selecting the access based on the determined selection criterion and the at least one indication. In one example, the selection criterion is one of the following: a bandwidth requirement for the data flow, an application generating the data flow, a protocol used to carry the data flow, a file size, an application name/ID, a role ID, or a throughput of the data flow. In one example, the policy is a management object (MO) received from an Access Network Discovery and Selection Function (ANDSF) module and the selected access is for a wireless local area network (WLAN), a LTE network or for a 3GPP service.

摘要: An apparatus or method of context-aware communication comprises obtaining, by an access terminal, a plurality of terminal data from a plurality of access terminal subsystems, one or more terminal applications, or a combination of both. Further, the various embodiments may include determining at least one context corresponding to at least a portion of the plurality of terminal data. Also, various embodiments may include creating a context profile having a context identifier identifying each context, wherein each context profile comprises profile parameters corresponding to the respective portion of the plurality of terminal data determined to correspond to the respective context. Additionally, the aspects include storing each context profile. Optionally, other embodiments may further include monitoring for the occurrence of a context corresponding to a content profile, and performing a context action triggered by detecting the occurrence of a context.

摘要: A first access point (AP) detects a communication between a client device and a second AP. The first AP determines at least one criteria for AP steering is satisfied. AP steering is then used by the first AP to cause the client device to associate with the first AP, or a particular network of the first AP. For example, the first AP may transmit a disassociation message to the client device. The disassociation message may identify the second AP associated with the client device and cause the client device to disassociate from the second AP. After the client device disassociates from the second AP, the client device may select and associate with the first AP. The first AP may manage which network the client device associates with using a blacklist at the first AP.

摘要: Aspects of the present disclosure describe various techniques for handling data stall in wireless local area networks (WLANs). These techniques include, for example, a method in which wireless communications are switched at a wireless station from a first network device associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) (e.g., WLAN technology) to a second network device associated with a second RAT (e.g., wireless wide area network (WWAN) technology). The wireless station may then monitor network devices associated with the first RAT, including the first network device. The wireless station may filter results from the monitoring based at least in part on one or more threshold value and identify, based on the filtered results, one of the network devices as suitable for the wireless communications. The wireless communications may then be switched at the wireless station from the second network device to the one network device identified as suitable for the wireless communications.
