摘要： A signal produced by a telecine suffers from losses and defects caused by difference in response to incident light of different areas of the screen area scanned. These differences may arise from burning of the screen, blemishes, dirt in the system, differences in grain size of phosphor particles, missing particles and losses in the internal optical system of the machine.
Burn at the ends of video lines may be reduced by reducing the intensity and/or dwell time of the scanning spot on any one area of the screen in the vicinity of the line end. 摘要： A flying-spot telecine detects film alignment by a light interrupter disc (28) (or drum) which is directly mounted on the axle of a sprocket wheel (22) of the film transport mechanism. The film is moved approximately to an expected position, and a light source (34) and detector (36) on opposite sides of the disc provide pulses representative of the determined film positions. Differences between determined and expected film positions are calculated to provide a correction signal used to adjust the vertical position of the scanning raster of the telecine CRT(2).

摘要： To compensate for the effects of film instability in a film gate, a film instability compensation system comprises a positional transducer (2) for measuring the position of the film edge relative to a sprocket hole (4) which is maintained in contact with a sprocket tooth (6) by pressure roller (8). Positional tranducer (2) measures the distance between the film edge and a sprocket hole and then measures deviations from the distance for subsequent sprocket holes to form a compensation signal. The output of the positional transducer (2) is coupled to a delay unit (10) which delays the signal corresponding to the error at a particular sprocket hole until that sprocket hole reaches the film gate.

Horizontal and vertical scan addresses for the image to be displayed are compared with reference addresses delineating the active picure area. Addresses which fall outside the active picure area are blanked. The reference addresses are then modified by addition of a portion of the horizontal and vertical scan addresses to introduce blank areas on the displayed image.
