where n has an average value ( n ) of from greater than 1 to 10 is polymerised, alone or with other ethylenically unsaturated monomer, by emulsion or solution polymerisation. When n is from 2 to 10 any known polymerisation technique may be used, but emulsion or solution polymerization is preferred. The monomer may be used to moderate the glass transition temperature of copolymers. 摘要： Ambient or low temperature curable coating compositions are disclosed which comprise aldehyde polymer and hydrazide or hydrazone curing agent. The polymer contains 0.25 to 10% acrolein or methacrolein, 0.5 to 10% acid and up to 99.25% of other units. The curing agent is a dicarboxylic acid bis-hydrazide or hydrazone. The compositions may be used to coat flexible substrates such as leather and leather substitutes. A process is disclosed for coating such materials with finish, plate or embossing, color and top coats, in which at least the top coat comprises such compositions.
