The invention relates to a device for installing and uninstalling a battery (10') on the underside of an electric or hybrid vehicle (19), the underside of the vehicle lying within a first substantially horizontal plane, wherein the device comprises a lift table (11) that vertically moves an engaging member capable of engaging with the underside of the vehicle. Said member is moved by the table (11) so as to mechanically engage with the underside of the vehicle, the underside of the member then being arranged in a second substantially horizontal plane in a state in which, due to a relative inclination (∆X, ∆Y) between the first and second plane, said member cannot engage with the underside of the vehicle. The lift table is raised using at least two cables (16, 16'), the elasticity of which makes it possible to compensate for the relative inclination of the two planes so as to enable the member to engage with the underside of the vehicle.

The invention is characterised in that the supporting structure comprises a frame (10) on which a plate (20) is mounted, whereby said plate can hold a traction battery (B) in place by means of at least one first linking element (L1A, L1B, L1C) that can geometrically align the traction battery (B) in relation to the structure (1). The supporting structure (1) is particularly suitable for managing the different batteries to be found at a battery exchange station.
