    摘要： An image forming apparatus (100) including a carriage (4), a height adjustment mechanism (50) provided to the carriage (4) to change a height of the carriage (4) and including a cam member (502) and a rotation guide member (504), a guide member (3) to guide the carriage (4) in a main scanning direction, and a pressing member (604) to drive the cam member (502). The rotation guide member (504) is pressed against the pressing member (604) to drive the cam member (502) and change the height of the carriage (4). Upon a change in the height of the carriage (4) from an upper position to a lower position, the carriage (4) moves through at least a part of a range extending from one end to an opposite end of the guide member (3) at a speed slower than a speed of the carriage (4) during image formation to contact the rotation guide member (504) and the pressing member (604) against each other at the slower speed.

    摘要： A developer container for use in an image forming apparatus, comprising:
    a container (132Y), said container (132Y) having two ends and a lateral surface extending between the two ends wherein the container (132Y) is equipped with a bottle main part (133Y) which is a hollow cylindrical component configured to accommodate developer and the bottle main part (133Y) has a circular opening (C);
    a cap portion (134Y) which includes a hollow cylindrical component and the cap portion (134Y) is configured to cover the end of the bottle main part (133Y) having the circular opening (C), wherein the cap portion (134Y) further includes an outlet (D) which is provided to face in the downward perpendicular direction of said container (132Y) for discharging the developer which is received from the circular opening (C) of the bottle main part (133Y); and
    a container gear (137Y) as a drive receiving unit is configured to receive a rotational force from the lateral direction of said container (132Y) to facilitate the discharging of the developer, wherein the gear is provided to be at least partially surrounded by the cap portion (134Y) and at least partially exposed to an exterior of the cap portion (134Y); and
    an engagement projection (134a) which is formed adjacent to the gear and configured to engage the bottle main part (133Y) and the cap portion (134Y).

    摘要： An image forming apparatus is disclosed that holds its detachably attached constituent units at predetermined positions for operations, and releases the hold when exchanging and inspecting the constituent units. The image forming apparatus includes a main body having an opened portion on one side, one or more devices detachably attached to the main body through the opened portion, and a holding unit that is capable of being opened and closed relative to the opened portion. The holding unit is engaged with the devices and holds the devices at the predetermined positions when the holding unit is closed relative to the opened portion.
