摘要: A meter system for analyzing body fluids includes a supply magazine for storing a stack of test elements, a meter for analyzing fluid samples, and a transport system for transporting test elements from the supply magazine to the meter. The test element in one embodiment includes a lancet integrated test element that has a lancet coupled to a test strip. The transport system is configured to minimize damage to the test element. In one form, the transport system includes a shuttle that slides the top-most test element from the stack onto a connection portion of the meter. In another form, the transport system includes a drum that rotates to transport test elements from the supply magazine to a testing position and, once used, to a waste magazine for disposal. In a further form, the transport system includes a disc that rotates to transport the test elements.

摘要: A resealable container (20) comprising: a housing (21); a lid (36) coupled to the housing (21); and a basket (24) received within the housing (21) and including side walls (56) defining an interior space (28), and a retainer (64, 92, 128) extending over at least a portion of the interior space and configured to support at least one test element (80) in at least one of a side-to-side direction and a front-to-back direction within the basket (24); wherein the retainer includes a plurality of fingers (68); wherein the fingers (68) extend to a parting line (72) and are arranged on opposing sides of the parting line; wherein the plurality of fingers (68) is configured such that when a test element (80) is loaded into the container, fingers that are contacted by the test element are deflected by the test element inwards towards the interior space thereby exerting a force on the side of the test element to support the test element in a side-to-side direction; and fingers that are not contacted by the test element are not deflected by the test element thereby providing front-to-back support for the test element.

摘要: A drum type container (10) for analytical elements (24) comprises a casing (10) defining a compartment with a plurality of portions (36) for receiving respective ones of the analytical elements. The container further comprises a base assembly (60) to which the casing is rotatably mounted. The base assembly includes a dispenser mechanism (80) for dispensing the glucose test strips from the casing and a locking mechanism (90) for maintaining an alignment of a selected one of the compartment portions with the dispensing mechanism.
