摘要： A thread cutting insert comprises parallel side surfaces (12,13) and two mutually adjacent edge surfaces (15,16), which are provided with cutting teeth (20-29) and extend between the side surfaces (12,13). For purposes of minimizing the amount of material ground away from a blank during manufacture of the cutting insert this material comprises surface portion (46-54) separated from each other by the cutting teeth.
