An ink composition at least comprising an alkali-soluble colorant, a water-soluble organic solvent, water and a cationic water-soluble resin, wherein the cationic water-soluble resin is a copolymer comprising repeating units represented by general formula (I) and/or general formula (II) and repeating units each having a water-soluble group. The use of the ink composition can realize images which are excellent in water and light resistances and little suffer from bleeding. Further, the use of a combination of the above ink composition with an ink composition containing an anionic substance can realize images little suffering from bleeding among colors.

[Problem to be Solved] The present invention is to provide a black ink composition that not only enhances print quality, and guarantees ozone fastness of a printed product printed by the inkjet recording method, but can also inhibit bronzing. Providing a black ink composition where even color under medium duty is maintained. [Solution] The invention provides a black ink composition where at least specific two types of black colorant are mixed. A black ink composition that can guarantee color hue dose to achromatic color even under medium duty conditions is provided by adding specific colorant. Color hue is more accurately adjusted by using C.I. Direct Yellow 86 together.
