This invention relates to a method for molding a sleeve-type reinforced plastic tubular body, such as a pipe coupling, and to a mold therefor. According to the method of this invention, a sleeve-fitted reinforced plastic tubular body is produced by using a mold obtained by assembling a main body and sleeve-molding members fixable and axially slidable to and along the outside surface of the main body. Accordingly, by providing sleeve molding members of different configurations and sizes and using them exchangeably according to the configuration and size of the desired molded article, tubular bodies having a sleeve of different configurations and sizes can be molded as required. Furthermore by adjusting the fixing position of the sleeve-molding member with regard to the main body of the mold, tubular bodies having a tubular section of different lengths can be produced by using one type of mold.

This invention relates to a core mold from which bent pipes having different bent angles can be formed from reinforced resins. According to this invention, said core comprising a main body formed of a plurality of hollow cylindrical members connected to each other, the angle between adjacent hollow cylindrical members being fixable at any desired value. Through this design, it is possible to produce with a single mold bent pipes of different angles instead of forms especially designed for the respective angle.

The invention relates to a mold for the production of a reinforced plastic tubular body having an annular groove such as a pipe coupling, said mold allowing accurate molding and comprising a mold body (1) and detachably mounted on a predetermined position thereon, an annular groove former (2) consisting of a surface layer (21) of an elastic material and a core (22) covered by the surface layer. In a method according to the invention, a reinforced plastic tubular body is produced by forming a layer (5) of a molding material around such a mold, curing the layer of molding material, separating the mold body (1) from the cured layer (5) of molding material, and then separating the annular groove former (2) from the cured layer (5) of molding material by removing the core (22) and the surface layer (21) in that sequence.
