The mold comprises a central shaft extending in an axial direction, a plurality of wall segments extending in the axial direction, surrounding the central shaft and defining the outer circumference of the mold and an actuator configured to set a dimension of the outer circumference of the mold by simultaneously adjusting a radial distance of each of the plurality of wall segments relative to the central shaft. A system and a method to produce tubular laminated objects is also presented.

The object of the present invention is a coil (10). Such coil (10) comprises a first flange (12) and a second flange (11) suitably spaced from each other. A filament (100) is arranged between the flanges in the form of a winding. Containing means are applied between the flanges and are arranged outside the filament winding (100), in a manner such that the filament (100) can be unwound inside the winding thereof. Another object of the present invention is the method for producing such coil (10) which makes use of a core (77) that can be removed for creating the filament winding (100). Since the coil (10) in one embodiment thereof is configured for being used for the three-dimensional printing of objects, a further object of the present invention is a system comprising such coil (10) and a device for the three-dimensional printing of objects.

A tool for making a composite tubular structure, such as the inner skin of an acoustic liner, includes a base (190) on which are mounted a plurality of sectors (182,184,186,188), each having an outer panel provided with a predetermined shaped surface. The predetermined shaped surface corresponds to a portion of the contour of the tubular structure to be formed. At least one of the sectors (182) is fixed relative to the base while the remaining sectors (184,186,188) are movable in a radial direction and separable from all the other sectors. The sectors are provided with air bearings to facilitate movement along a radial direction. Splice plates are used to form a joint between the outer panels of adjacent sectors. After composite material is applied on the outer panels, a vacuum bag is formed to surround the composite material and also the joint areas on the inner surface of the tool. The entire tool may be placed in an autoclave for curing. The thus-formed composite tubular structure may be remounted on the tool for bonding to additional exterior layers.
