摘要: A hydromechanical transmission that can be used as an efficient continuously variable transmission comprising a differential mechanism (4), a hydraulic transmission mechanism (8), a mode selection mechanism (9), a locking mechanism (11), and a clutch mechanism (12). The hydraulic transmission mechanism (8) is constituted of two pump/motors (5,7) one of which acting as a hydraulic pump when the other acts as a hydraulic motor, and vice versa. The mode selector (9) selects either a low-speed mode or a high-speed mode. When one of said two pump/motors operates at a low speed in a given range of high output speeds in the high-speed mode, the input/output shaft (5a) of said pump/motor (5) is locked by the locking mechanism. When the locking mechanism (11) is in operation, said other device (7) operating at high speed is disconnected from the differential mechanism by said clutch mechanism (12).
