摘要： The invention relates to a method and a device (1) for replenishing an electrode (2) of a metallurgical furnace having a furnace cover (14), said electrode having a sensitive length section (21). The device (1) comprises a first and a second clamping ring (4, 5), adjusting cylinders (6, 7) for moving the first clamping ring (4) in relation to the second clamping ring (5) by a compensation stroke and for moving the electrode (2) in relation to the furnace cover (14) and a control apparatus (1s) for controlling the clamping rings (4, 5) and the adjusting cylinders (6, 7), wherein the control apparatus (1s) is programmed such that the compensation stroke for the adjusting cylinders (6, 7) for moving the first clamping ring (4) in relation to the second ring (5) can be set variably and in an automated manner, such that retightening of the first clamping ring (4) around the electrode (2) after the compensation stroke has been reached occurs only adjacently to the sensitive length section (21) of the electrode (2) and not within said length section (21).
