摘要： A tape cassette is which a tape body is wound around a couple of tape reels rotatably supported to a cassette body. The cassette body has a first write inhibition mechanism provided at a place corresponding to the place where a write inhibition mechanism is provided in another tape cassette compatibly loaded in a recording/reproducing apparatus in which the tape cassette of the invention is loaded and a second write inhibition mechanism at a place not corresponding to the place where a write inhibition mechanism is provided in the other tape cassette, thereby making the first write inhibition mechanism always in a write-inhibition state. Even if a tape cassette on which an information signal is recorded in a recording format is loaded in a recording/reproducing apparatus for tape cassettes of a specific recording format which is one of different recording formats and is different from the recording format of the loaded tape cassette, the recording of information signals in the tape cassette is inhibited to protect the data already recorded.

摘要： A tape drive device capable of surely feeding a magnetic tape (T) extracted from a tape cartridge (4) to a windup reel (3) in a drive device body, a tape extraction device, and a tape cassette; the tape drive device, comprising a chucking mechanism (14) engaged with a reader block (12) provided at one end of the magnetic tape (T), a transfer mechanism (11) having a transfer part (13) for feeding the chucked reader block (12), release levers (33) and (34) installed on both end sides of a cam groove (19) for movably guiding the reader block (12), operated by cam bodies (35) and (36) installed on the transfer part (13), and releasing the chucking of the chucking mechanism (14), and reel motors (53C) and (52T) having frequency generators (52C) and (52T) drivingly rotating the tape reel (410) and the windup reel (3) in the tape cartridge (4).
