Provided is a microchip which enables to easily confirm, from the outside of the microchip, filling of a solution into an analysis region. The microchip includes: an introduction part for introducing a liquid; an analysis region in which a substance contained in the liquid or a reaction product of the substance is analyzed; an indication region to indicate that the analysis region has completely been filled with the liquid; and a flow channel to connect the introduction part, the analysis region, and the indication region. In the microchip, the flow channel is configured in such a manner that an amount of time it takes for the liquid introduced from the introduction part to reach the indication region is longer than an amount of time it takes for the liquid introduced from the introduction part to fill up the analysis region.

The object is to increase the S/N ratio in the detection of the occurrence of hybridization to increase the detection accuracy. Disclosed is a hybridization detection method, in which the hybridization between a probe nucleic acid chain with a target nucleic acid chain is allowed to proceed in a reaction system, and then the temperature of the reaction system where the hybridization proceeds is raised to a temperature higher than a predetermined temperature, thereby increasing the S/N ratio in the detection of the hybridization.

The reaction region (R) to serve as a field of hybridization of a sensing nucleotide chain (X) and a target nucleotide chain (Y) having a base sequence complementary to the sensing nucleotide chain (X) can be immobilized at the end (E) of a scanning electrode (C) by dielectrophoresis while elongating the sensing nucleotide chain (X) by an electric field. A sensor chip having such a sensing part (1a) and a hybridization method using them are also disclosed.
