b) placing at least one test chemical (138) on the substrate (114) in a manner that the test chemical (138) covers a partition (139) of the elongate receptacle (122);
c) placing at least one cover element (146) on the substrate (114) such that the cover element (146) covers the elongate receptacle (122) at least partially, whereby a channel (148) having a channel surface (154) is formed;
wherein at least one hydrophilic material (136) is applied in a manner that at least one surface section (160) of the channel surface (154) is covered with the hydrophilic material (136), wherein the surface section (160) is adjacent to the test chemical (138).-

摘要: A microfluidic system has a monolithic biocompatible substrate with both a surface having an ordered array of nano-scale elements for plasmonic response monitoring and a network of microchannels. Advantageously, low-volume consumption, rapid low-cost fabrication of molds with easily interchangeable microfluidic channel layouts, mass production, and in situ label-free real-time detection of cellular response, viability, behavior and biomolecular binding using plasmonic techniques can be provided. A ratio of greater than 0.2 of the cross-sectional dimension and the spacing between the nano-scale elements is useful for plasmonic response monitoring. Producing such a system involves a master mold with the nano-scale elements etched into a hard substrate, and the network provided in a soft membrane bonded to the hard substrate. A stamp may be created by setting a settable liquid polymer or metal placed in the master mold. Features of the intended device can be transferred to a polymeric substrate using the stamp.

in welcher Betriebsposition die Reagenzbehälter-Aufnahme (1), der mikrofluidische Chip (10) und die fluidischen Verbindungsmittel (2) derart zueinander positioniert sind,
dass die mikrofluidischen Ventile des mikrofluidischen Chips (10) an der Steuereinrichtung (5) angeschlossen sind,
dass in der Reagenzbehälter-Aufnahme (1) angeordnete Reagenzbehälter (18) über die fluidischen Verbindungsmittel (2) mit den fluidischen Anschlüssen verbunden sind,
sodass in Abhängigkeit der Ventilstellung der mikrofluidischen Ventile Reagenzien aus den Reagenzbehältern (18) in Richtung der Synthesekammer (14) förderbar sind.-

The fluid analysis chip may also include a cap layer disposed over the spacer layer, the cap layer including an inlet and an outlet for establishing fluid communication with the microchannel included in the spacer layer, and an interface layer disposed over the cap layer, the interface layer being configured to attach the fluid analysis chip to the fluid preparation unit of the disposable cartridge.

摘要: A method for making a polymeric microfluidic structure in which two or more components (layers) of the microfluidic structure are fixedly bonded or laminated with a weak solvent bonding agent, particularly acetonitrile or a mixture of acetonitrile and alcohol. In an aspect, acetonitrile can be used as a weak solvent bonding agent to enclose a microstructure fabricated in or on a non-elastomeric polymer such as polystyrene, polycarbonate, acrylic or other linear polymer to form a three-dimensional microfluidic network. The method involves the steps of wetting at least one of the opposing surfaces of the polymeric substrate components with the weak solvent bonding agent in a given, lower temperature range, adjacently contacting the opposing surfaces, and thermally activating the bonding agent at a higher temperature than the lower temperature range for a given period of time. The contacted polymeric substrates may also be aligned prior to thermal activation and compressed during thermal activation. A laminated, polymeric microfluidic structure is also disclosed.

The emitter and detector may be formed on a common substrate which is folded about the lateral flow membrane.
