The invention relates to a method and a device for bending and cooling a glass sheet (2) or a group of glass sheets. According to the invention, the glass sheets (2) are heated to bending temperature and, in the horizontal position, bent into the desired shape with the aid of a mould ring (50, 51). The bent sheets (2) placed on said mould ring (50, 51) are then cooled in a cooling station (7) using cool blown air from blow boxes and subsequently conveyed to a removal station (9). The invention is characterised in that as the mould ring (50, 51) travels between the bending station (4), the cooling station (7), the removal station (9) and back to the bending station (4), it moves along a completely-closed path, in particular a circular path (K).

The invention relates to a method for crowning glass sheets (2), heated to the softening temperature thereof, having the following characteristics: the glass sheets (2) are arranged in a concave crowning frame (3) and pre-crowned under the force of gravity, the pre-crowned glass sheets (2) are transferred on a transfer form (4) with a concave forming surface, the transfer form (4) being displaced upwards across the concave crowning frame (3) with a larger perimeter and thus recovering the glass sheets (2), the transfer form (4) is brought to into the vertical projection of a final crowning form in th form of a frame (5) with a concave forming surface, the transfer form (4) is displaced downwards across the final crowning form (5) with larger perimeter, the glass sheets (2) are placed on the final crowning form (5)and the glass sheets (2) are crowned into the final form thereof. The glass sheets (2) in the final form thereof are transferred from the final crowning form (5) after the crowning operation is finished onto a transport and cooling device. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out said method.

The invention relates to a device (1) for heating and/or sintering of glass (8, 8') based on transport molds (4, 4'), the device (1) comprising an oven part (2) for glass heating (8, 8') and a loadport (3) to load the oven part (2) with glass (8, 8'). The device (1) is characterized in that the loadport (3) is provided with means (10, 11, 14) of inserting the glass (8, 8') in the oven part (2) and of depositing the glass (8, 8') on a transport mold (4, 4') situated within the oven section (2). The invention relates also to a glass (8, 8') heating and/or sintering method based on transport molds (4, 4') making use of the device of the present invention.

The invention concerns a method for bending glass sheets (20) with a surface bending mould (1) whereon the glass sheets are pressed by a pressure drop produced by sucking up air from the space between the moulding surface (2) and the glass sheet surface opposite thereto, whereby the pressure drop is at its maximum at the glass sheet edge and decreases towards its middle part, owing to the fact that the air is introduced by air inlets (8) emerging in the moulding surface. The invention is characterised in that the air is again evacuated by subjecting to low pressure the suction apertures (11, 17) arranged in the moulding surface (2), inside the zone covered by the glass sheet. Moreover, the pressure prevailing between the glass sheet and the moulding surface is, as well as in the zone where air is introduced, adjusted at a maximum value equal to the pressure prevailing beyond the glass sheet, so as to avoid any swelling. The invention also concerns a bending mould particularly suited for implementing said method.

The invention relates to a device which is used to bend one or more stacked glass panes, comprising: a first train of trolleys (W1) which carries transport supports (T1) and which travels between (i) a loading zone (3) in which at least one pane is disposed on a transport support (T1) of a trolley and (ii) a transfer zone (6), a furnace section (2) heating the glass panes to bending temperature along the path to the transfer zone (6); and a second train of trolleys (W2) which travels between the transfer zone (6) and a final cooling section (7) with an unloading station (8) and which is equipped with transport supports (T2) that are different from the transport supports (T1) of the first train of trolleys. The invention also relates to a method of bending at least one glass pane, comprising the following steps consisting in: depositing the glass panes on a transport support (T1) of a first train of trolleys (W1) which travels between a loading zone (3) and a transfer zone (6); heating the glass panes to the bending temperature thereof and (pre-)bending same as they travel to the transfer zone (6); and transferring the panes onto a transport support (T2) of a second train of trolleys (W2), which is different from the first transport support (T1), said second train of trolleys (W2) travelling between the transfer zone (6) and a final cooling zone (7).
