The dryer includes a condensing unit (50) to change water vapor evaporated from a drying object into condensate water by cooling, a condensate water storage container (200) in which the condensate water is stored, a water level sensing device (240,250) to detect a level of the stored condensate water, and a microcomputer to calculate a change rate of condensation or of the condensate water level based on the detected water level and to determine a value of dryness of the drying object. The dryer effectively performs a drying operation based on the accurately detected value of dryness of the drying object.

摘要： A water level sensing apparatus (162; 262) which more precisely senses a level of supplied water, a water supply hose (63) and a washing machine having the same is provided. The water level sensing apparatus includes a main body (169) provided with an inner wall (166) and an outer wall (165) and filled with water supplied to the inside of the inner wall, a plurality of electrodes (167) inserted between the inner wall (166) and the outer wall (165) to be opposite to each other, and a micro-computer (160) to judge a water level in the main body (169) through variation of a capacitance value of the plurality of electrodes (167). Therethrough, the water level sensing apparatus (162; 262) more directly measures a water level, as compared to the conventional water level sensing apparatus, thus improving precision in water level measurement. Thereby, the water level sensing apparatus prevents unnecessary water supply and reduces energy consumption.

摘要： An air conditioner and a control method thereof are disclosed. The air conditioner includes a distance detection unit which detects a distance to an obstacle in an indoor space, a temperature detection unit which detects a space temperature of the indoor space, a rotation unit which rotates the distance detection unit and the temperature detection unit, and a controller which controls to detect distance information and temperature information according to space regions obtained by dividing the indoor space into a plurality of regions in a rotation direction while the distance detection unit and the temperature detection unit are rotated, to sequentially store the distance information and temperature information according to the space regions, and to determine whether there is a human body in a corresponding space region and a position of the human body based on a variation in the stored distance information and temperature information. Accordingly, it is possible to quickly and accurately distinguish an object from a human body, and also possible to quickly and accurately determine even a hardly moving body, thereby improving pleasantness of a human body by concentrating or removing cool air or warm air to or from the human body according to a user's preference.
