According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method of a first electronic device of the wireless communication system measuring a range comprises the processes of: negotiating with a second electronic device; and measuring a range between the first electronic device and the second electronic device according to a measurement method selected from a plurality of measurement methods, based on the negotiation result of the second electronic device. Embodiments of the present invention have the advantageous effect that the range between wireless devices can be measured using the most suitable range measurement method for range measurement purposes by considering the characteristics between the wireless devices.
