    摘要： A motion estimator (150) for generating an interpolation frame based on current and previous frames is provided. The motion estimator includes: a first candidate motion vector calculating unit (10) which divides the current frame into plural blocks and generates plural first candidate motion vector groups, each group including a first candidate motion vector for each of the blocks calculated based on a previous motion vector previously estimated; a second candidate motion vector calculating unit (30) which calculates plural second candidate motion vectors for each of the blocks, each of the second candidate motion vectors being calculated based on a respective first candidate motion vector included in each of the first candidate motion vector group; and a final motion vector deciding unit (50) which selects a final motion vector for each of the blocks from among the second candidate motion vectors, the interpolation frame being generated based on the final motion vector.

    摘要： A method for converting an image in an image conversion apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving a stereo image, down-scaling the stereo image, performing stereo-matching by applying adaptive weight to the down-scaled stereo images, generating a depth map according to the stereo-matching, up-scaling the depth map by referring to an input image of original resolution, and generating a plurality of multi-view images by performing depth-image-based rendering with respect to the up-scaled depth map and the input image of original resolution. Accordingly, a plurality of multi-view images may be obtained with ease.

The content providing apparatus comprises: a communication unit for communicating with an external apparatus; an image processing unit for generating a compressed image by image-processing an input original image; and a control unit for controlling the communication unit to divide the original image into one or more regions based on the image quality, to obtain characteristic information for each region from the respective regions, and to transmit the obtained characteristic information for each region together with the compressed image to the external apparatus. As the result, the display apparatus may perform image quality improvement operation so that the image quality is close to the original quality level by extracting information required for improving the image quality and transmitting the same together with a compressed image in production and encoding steps before transmitting the image.
