摘要： The present invention relates to a process for the production of ethylene, comprising the following steps of: (a) thermally converting a feed charge containing methane into acetylene as an intermediate, (b) in-situ hydrogenation of the acetylene produced in step (a) into ethylene by a non-catalytic hydrogen transfer mechanism, characterized by (c) recovering heat from hot effluents obtained in step (b) which may be utilized for different purposes.
