摘要: A balloon inflation/deflation system for use with an endoscope and comprising: balloon inflation functionality providing a predetermined open-loop inflation sequence; and balloon deflation functionality. The balloon inflation functionality may be operative to inflate a balloon of a balloon-equipped endoscopic device in engagement with an interior wall of a body passageway under inspection to at least one of an anchoring pressure and a slidable frictional engagement pressure. The system may also comprise an inflated balloon pressure indicator, and wherein said open loop inflation sequence comprises an automatic inflation sequence, which includes at least one step of balloon inflation over a predetermined time duration, notwithstanding the exceedance of a preset inflated balloon pressure by the pressure measured in said inflated balloon pressure indicator.
