The invention relates to a rubber composition suitable for being used in particular for manufacturing tyres, comprising at least one diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler, a cross-linking system, 0.2 to 10 pce of an antioxidant such as a substituted paraphenylenediamine and 0.2 to 10 pce of chromium acetylacetonate (III). Said acetylacetonate compound is advantageously suitable for reducing antioxidant consumption during the thermal oxidative ageing of the composition. The invention also relates to a metal/rubber composite comprising such a composition and at least one metal reinforcement, as well as to a tyre comprising such a composition or such a composite.
