There is provided a thermoplastic polymer composition characterized by comprising a thermoplastic polymer, phosphites represented by the formula (I), and at least one kind of erythritols selected from the group consisting of pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol and tripentaerythritol:

A rubber composition comprising a natural and/or synthetic rubber, a filler and an acrylamide compound represented by the formula of X-NH CH=CH₂
wherein X is an aliphatic or alicyclic group, phenyl or phenoxyphenyl, in which said aliphatic or alicyclic group may contain halogen or oxygen in the group, said phenyl may be substituted once or twice by halogen, hydroxy, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, nitro, cyano, carboxy or alkoxycarbonyl, and said phenoxyphenyl is represented by the formula of wherein Q¹ and Q² independently of one another are each hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, cyclohexyl, phenyl, halogen, hydroxy or amino. This rubber composition is increased in its loss factor, and is useful for tires and tread parts. The resulting tires prepared from the rubber composition are improved in their gripping performance.

There is provided a co-condensation product obtainable by subjecting a p-alkylphenol to reaction with formaldehyde in the presence of an alkali catalyst to prepare a resol type condensate, and subjecting the resulting resol type condensate to reaction with a m-substituted phenol such as resorcin in the presence of an acid catalyst, wherein the content of the m-substituted phenol is not higher than 4% by weight, and the content of a component having a molecular weight not higher than 1,000 excluding both the p-alkylphenol and the m-substituted phenol is at least 25% by weight based on the total weight of the co-condensation product. This co-condensation product is low in fuming and in hygroscopic properties, exhibits excellent adhesiveness in vulcanizing adhesion between rubber and a reinforcing material, and further provides a vulcanized rubber article of high hardness.

A styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber to be used for automobile tires is lowered in its rolling resistance by blending it with carbon black and the following components (A) and (B):
(A) a dinitrodiamine compound represented by the following formula (I): wherein X is a divalent organic group such as an alkylene, R¹ is hydrogen or an organic group such as an alkyl, provided that two nitrogen atoms linking through X may further link through R¹, and R² and R³ are each hydrogen or an alkyl, provided that R² and R³ may conjointly form a ring; and (B) a sulfide compound selected from dibenzothiazyl disulfide, tetralkylthiuram disulfide, and alkyl- or hydroxy-substituted phenol sulfide resin. The dinitrodiamine compound (A) and the sulfide compound (B) are added simultaneously to the rubber together with the carbon black in a first kneading step of a high temperature. The resulting rubber composition is lowered in its loss factor (tan δ) at around 60°C as compared with the case where the dinitrodiamine compound (A) is added alone, and it contributes to decrease the rolling resistance of tires made from the rubber composition.
