Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a synthetic resin vessel having a handle (2), comprising a vessel proper (37) prepared by blow-forming or draw-blow-forming of a synthetic resin and a handle (2) formed separately from the vessel proper but secured to the vessel proper, said process comprising rotationally supplying the handle to a blow-forming split mold by a holding member (32) before the blow-forming, and supplying the handle to the holding member turning reversely outwardly of the blow-forming split mold and in the vicinity thereof during the blow-forming and keeping the handle on standby. According to this process, a synthetic resin vessel having a handle can be prepared smoothly at a high productivity without any loss time.

An apparatus for cooling a transfer mandrel (2) on whose top portion (2a) a thermoplastic resin parison (5) is mounted and which is rotatably engaged with the peripheral portion of a rotary table (3). The apparatus is arranged along the peripheral portion of the rotary table (3) adapted to rotate oppositely to a heating means (6). The apparatus comprises a cooling block (16) having a cavity (16a) through which cooling water flows and a concave surface (16b) opposing to the transfer mandrel (2) which has a profile conforming to the cylindrical portion (2c) of the transfer mandrel (2), means (21) for adjusting the position of the cooling block (16), and a spring (23) which pushes a surface portion opposite said concave surface (16b) of the cooling block (16).
