    摘要: A method and apparatus for authenticating a mobile device in a second network when the mobile device is already authenticated in a first network. An authentication device in the first network generates an authentication master key associated with the mobile device using a first nonce generated by the authentication device and a second nonce generated by the mobile device. The generated authentication master key is sent to a second authentication device in the second network, where is usable by the second authentication device to authenticate the mobile device in the second network.

    摘要: Methods, network entities (215a-216c), and user equipment (UE) (210a-210b) are described for use in a communication system (200) including a wireless local area network (WLAN) (204a-204b) and a telecommunications network including a radio access network (202a-202c) and a core network part. A network entity (215b) receives a WLAN access message from a UE (210a). The WLAN access message includes an indication of the UE status with the telecommunication network. The network entity (215b) detects the indication of UE status and determines from the indication whether to allow the UE access to the WLAN (204b). When the WLAN (204b) is integrated with the telecommunications network, the network entity (215b) sends a query to the telecommunication network (e.g. the RAN (202a-202c) or core network part) for a decision based on the UE status with the telecommunication network. The indication may include data representative of RAN or core network accessibility information (e.g. limited service or no coverage), WLAN access only, a user preference for accessing the WLAN (204b) instead of the telecommunication network, and/or any other connectivity or preference information for use by the WLAN (204b) or network entity (215b) in determining whether to allow UE (210a) to access WLAN (204b).

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for handling a paging request for a Circuit Switched session, when the paging request is intended for a terminal attached to a Packet Switched cell in a radio access network and having one or more ongoing Packet Switched sessions. The request is received at a node in the radio access or core network to establish a Circuit Switched session with the terminal whilst the terminal has one or more ongoing Packet Switched sessions. The importance of the ongoing Packet Switched session is determined at the node, and the paging request is rejected if any of the ongoing Packet Switched sessions is more important than the Circuit Switched session. The node may be a MME, an eNodeB or the terminal itself.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method performed in a radio communications network which is configured to enable multipath communication. The method comprises providing an explicit indication that a path within a multipath connection is a backup path prior to establishment on or handover to a radio link of the backup path, transmission of the explicit indication to the base station, where it is interpreted. This allows an early indication that the path is a backup path and allows the base station to handle and prioritise use of radio network resources and/or connection characteristics for the radio link. The explicit indication may be in the radio level signalling or in handover signalling.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for authenticating a mobile device in a second mobile access network when the mobile device is already authenticated in a first mobile access network. An access device receives an authentication request from the mobile device. The access device obtains secondary authentication information derived from primary authentication information used in an authentication procedure to authenticate the mobile device with the first mobile access network. The access device then uses the secondary authentication information to authenticate the mobile device in the second mobile access network. An advantage of this method is that authentication credentials can be re-used to a certain extent to improve the speed of authentication in the second network and reduce the amount of signalling and processing required to authenticate the mobile device in the second network.
