According to embodiments of the present application, during a process of encapsulating a video code stream to obtain a video track, configuration information of the video code stream is added to indicate coding characteristics of the video code stream, thereby achieving classified storage of the video track, the correlation between different video tracks, and the rapid acquisition of a video track having a certain coding characteristic, and improving the video track storage, correlation, and transmission efficiency.
