Abstract: In a video streaming system, latency between decoding of video frames and rendering of these video frames on a display is reduced. A video encoding frame rate is obtained for a received video stream. Display supported refresh rates are obtained from the display. Among the display supported refresh rates a refresh rate is selected that is a multiple of the video encoding frame rate. The selected refresh rate is transmitted to the display in a configuration command and the video frames are transmitted to the display.
