The invention relates to the production of silicone membranes for architectural use, by means of coating an architectural textile with a silicone, in particular, but not exclusively on a glass fabric. The aim of the invention is a method in which the deposition on the architectural textile may be easily and rapidly achieved with a coating rate of less than 40 g/m . Said aim is achieved whereby said method comprises the following steps: deposition on said architectural textile of at least one layer of an emulsion of polyorganosiloxane (POS), which may be cross-linked to give an elastomer by polyaddition and comprising: (A) a POS with =SiVinyl groups, (B) a POS with =SiH groups, (C) a special adherence promoter (polyvinyl alcohol) or POS(OH), (D) a catalyst, (E) at least one surface active agent, (F) optionally a POS resin with =SiVinyl groups, (G) optionally a cross-linking inhibitor, (H) optionally a pH stabilising agent,(I) optionally a formulation additive, (J) optionally a charge and (K) water, with the condition that 0.05 (C) 4 % by weight of the silicone phase, followed by cross-linking such that the weight proportion of the coating as a proportion of the dry weight of the architectural textile is less than 0.2 and preferably between 0.05 and 0.11.

The invention relates to the production of architectural silicone membranes by impregnating an architectural fabric, particularly but not exclusively fiberglass, with an elastomeric silicone composition especially of type RTV-2 which vulcanizes by hydrosilylation (polyaddition). The aim of the invention is to improve a treatment method at least by impregnating fibrous materials with a liquid silicone composition consisting of 100 percent of silicone RTV-2. The inventive method comprises the following essential steps: Ii) an elastomeric crosslinkable liquid silicone composition comprising (a) a vinyl polyorganosiloxane (POS), (b) at least one hydrogenated POS, (c) a platinum catalyst, (d) an optional adhesive, (e) an optional mineral charge, (f) an optional cross-linkage inhibitor, an optional POS resin, and optional functional additives is applied to a fibrous material; IIi) cross-linking is done; III) optionally, at least one other sequence comprising steps Ii) and IIi) (i representing a positive whole number) as defined above in steps Ii and IIi is carried out. The inventive method is characterized by the fact that the fibrous material is fully impregnated with a liquid silicone composition as defined above in step Ii), said liquid silicone composition being fluid and being obtained without being diluted, solubilized, or emulsified. The invention also relates to the (composite) architectural silicone membrane that is fully impregnated with a fluid silicone liquid that consists of 100 percent of RTV-2.
