    Abstract: An optical structure comprises an embossed layer having an embossed face including a recording area, the recording area including an embossed recording body having an uneven structure; and a light reflecting layer covering a part or the entirety of the recording area. The recording area includes a refractive mirror area and a diffractive area in the vicinity of the refractive mirror area. The refractive mirror area includes a plurality of aligned inclined mirrors constituting the embossed recording body, and the diffractive area has a diffractive structure. The refractive mirror area has a plurality of local mirror structures, and the diffractive area has a plurality of local diffractive structures. Each pair of the local diffractive structure and the local mirror structure adjacent to the local diffractive structure forms one local structure.

    Abstract: An optical structure includes an embossed layer having an embossed surface having a flat surface and an uneven surface, and an optical interaction layer covering and following the embossed surface. The optical interaction layer exhibits an optical function of the embossed surface. The uneven surface includes a first region, a second region, and a boundary region located between the first region and the second region. The regions each include a recess recessed from the flat surface. The recess in the first region is recessed from the flat surface to a first recess depth, the recess in the second region is recessed from the flat surface to a second recess depth, and the first recess depth is larger than the second recess depth. The recess in the boundary region is recessed from the flat surface to a third recess depth, and the third recess depth is larger than the first recess depth and larger than the second recess depth. The second region includes a plurality of linear regions regularly arranged on the embossed surface.

    Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a display that is unlikely to undergo color shift when produced using a conventional method. The display of the present invention includes an uneven-structure-forming layer having a surface provided with a plurality of concavities or a plurality of convexities respectively provided with flat bottoms and flat tops substantially parallel to the flat bottoms, and a light reflecting layer covering all or a part of an uneven surface of the uneven-structure-forming layer. The uneven-structure-forming layer is provided with two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions. Each of the two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions has a constant optical distance between the flat bottoms and the flat tops, but the optical distance is different between the two kinds of regions. The two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions are alternately arrayed. The optical distances in the two kinds of uneven-structure-forming regions have respective set values which are so selected, when forming the uneven surface of the uneven-structure-forming layer, to form a combination contributing to reduction of a color shift of the display.
