Abstract: There is provided a display that displays a diffraction image from which an observer can easily perceive a stereoscopic effect. A display (1) includes a relief structure forming layer having a major surface which is provided with a relief type diffractive structure that displays an image of a three-dimensional object as a diffraction image; and a reflective layer at least partially covering a region of the major surface where the diffractive structure is provided. The above region includes first and second regions (R1, R2). A portion of the diffractive structure in the first region (R1) includes first and second linear parts forming a first lattice, and first parts arranged in respective gaps of the first lattice. The first and second linear parts each having a solid line shape form a first pattern. A portion of the diffractive structure in the second region (R2) includes third and fourth linear parts alternately arranged in the width direction thereof. The third linear parts each having a dashed line shape and the fourth linear parts each having a dashed or dotted line shape form a second pattern.

A counterfeit-preventive optical element (1) of an embodiment includes a first layer (2), a second layer (3), and a third layer (6) that are stacked in this order. A relief structure (R) is provided between the first layer (2) and the second layer (3), the first layer (2) includes a first region (4) and a second region (5), the first region (4) totally reflects incident light incident from the first layer (2) due to at least one of the angle of a face of the relief structure (R) and the refractive index ratio of the first layer (2) and the second layer (3), and the second region (5) transmits or refracts at least some of incident light incident from the first layer (2) due to one of the angle of a face of the relief structure (R) and the refractive index ratio of the first layer (2) and the second layer (3) . The transparency of the second region (5) is higher than the transparency of the first region (4) only when the optical element is observed from the first layer (2) at a particular angle.

Abstract: A laminate includes: a first laminate member; a second laminate member; and a hidden print formed by printing invisible ink between the first laminate member and the second laminate member. The hidden print is configured to absorb electromagnetic radiation outside the visible range. When irradiated with electromagnetic radiation outside a visible range that has passed through at least one of the first laminate member and the second laminate member, the hidden print absorbs the electromagnetic radiation to thereby show a sign, and, when irradiated with visible light, the hidden print does not show the sign.

Abstract: A laminate (10) includes a recording layer (11), a translucent front covering layer (12) and a security foil (20) laminated between the recording layer and the front covering layer and sealed in the laminate. The security foil has a thickness that is 1/5 or less the thickness of the recording layer to prevent or reduce falsification reusing the security foil. The security foil includes a relief layer (21) having a relief surface and a protective layer (22) covering the relief surface. In the thickness direction of the laminate, the protective layer adheres to the recording layer and the relief layer adheres to the front covering layer. The adhesion strength between the security foil and the recording layer is higher than the adhesion strength between the security foil and the front covering layer.
