    摘要： A chassis 10 of a diaper 1 includes a first outer sheet 11 defining a front waist region 2 and a part of a crotch region 4, a second outer sheet 12 defining a rear waist region 3 and a part of the crotch region 4 and a middle sheet 13 connecting these sheets 11, 12 and defining a part of the crotch region 4. To the skin-facing side of the chassis 10, a liquid-absorbent structure 30 is attached. The liquid-absorbent structure 30 is provided with first and second elastic sheets 51, 52 overlapping front and rear ends 31, 32 of the liquid-absorbent structure 30, respectively. The first elastic sheet 51 is attached under tension in a transverse direction X and in contractible manner between a bottom surface of the liquid-absorbent structure 30 and the first outer sheet 11 and the second elastic sheet 52 is located on a skin-facing surface of the liquid-absorbent structure 30 and attached thereto under tension in the transverse direction X and in contractible manner.

Front and rear waist regions 6, 7 of a disposable wearing article have inner surfaces thereof at least partially formed of elastic sheets 37, 38. The elastic sheets 37, 38 are made of a mixture of elastic fibers and inelastic fibers and formed with ridges and grooves. The elastic sheets have a thickness in the ridges repetitively reduced and restored as the elastic sheets repeat elastic stretch and contraction in the waist circumferential direction.
