摘要： The invention relates, in general, to markers of obesity and lipodystrophy. In particular, the expression level of the SLUG gene or its expression products can be used as such a marker. Furthermore, the invention additionally relates to the use of SLUG as a therapeutic and diagnostic target for these pathologies. The invention further relates to a method of treating a disorder associated with increased or decreased fat storage in a mammal comprising modulating the activity or level of the SLUG protein or the SLUG gene in the mammal.
