A method to lengthen post-harvest life of cut flowers is described comprising the following procedures:
a) plunging the stems of cut flowers into a solution comprising 10-95% of a linear or ramified aliphatic alcohol with 2-5 carbon atoms, and 0,01-35% of myrrh for a period of time between 10 seconds and 2 hours; b) drying the flower stems by exposure to outer environment, so that the flowers are transported in a dry status.
