An apparatus for machining motorcar disk brake brackets and caliper blocks, comprises a tool-holding machining head (34), slidable along vertical guides (36) carried by a column movable along two horizontal axes (X, Z), with respect to a workpiece held on a workpiece-holding device (88), and a tool-changing magazine (82). The machining head (34) carries at least one vertical mill-holding spindle (44, 46) in a position horizontally nearer to the column (30), and at least two vertical drill-holding spindles (52-58) in a position farther from the column. The tool-changing magazine (82) is arranged for cooperating with said drill-holding spindles (52-58) for changing their tools by moving the machine head.
