摘要： A high speed apparatus for cutting and wrapping soft chewing gum comprises a plurality of substantially parallel cutters having cutting heads to cut the gum into relatively thin rectangular-shaped pieces. The cutters are moved to a position where each individually shaped piece of gum is placed into a nest on a wrapping tray with a wrapper located therebetween. The cutters are moved in an eccentric ovoid path by a ring wheel and grooved cam wheel arrangement which causes the cutting heads to separate and move back together as they move through a cycle. During placement of the stick of gum in the nest, a flat side of the shaped piece of gum is urged against the flat bottom of the nest. The apparatus further comprises an apparatus to complete wrapping the wrapper around the piece of gum.

The confection piece can be used to combine diverse confections to provide new and unique organoleptic response for the user and its also can be used as a vehicle for oral administration of nutrients and medicinal compositions and particularly where same include interactive components which should be kept separated until the confection piece is dissolved in the user's mouth. A method and apparatus for making the confection piece also are disclosed.

摘要： The present invention pertains to an adjustable curvature toothbrush which comprises (a) an elongated handle (1) having an aperture (2), (b) a cam (3) attached to the handle (1) within the aperture by means of a cam shaft (4), (c) a cam follower (12) which is engaged with, and follows, the cam (3), (d) a flexible brush head (6), (e) bristles (7) supported by the brush head (6), (f) a rigid neck (10) attached to a first end of the brush head (6) and to an end of the handle (1), and (g) a flexible neck (11) attached to a second end of the brush head (6) and to the cam follower (12), whereby the curvature of the brush head (6) can be adjusted by rotation of the cam (3). In another embodiment, the invention pertains to an adjustable curvature toothbrush wherein the cam (3) and cam follower (4) are replaced by a slidable button (17). In yet another embodiment, the invention pertains to an adjustable curvature toothbrush in the form of a compressible closed loop (26).
