摘要: A probe assembly (18) for a cooking appliance (10) includes an outer case (22) that includes a cap (24), a body (26), and retention features (20, 20a, 20b) that are coupled to each of the cap (24) and the body (26). A first temperature sensor (28) is operably coupled to the cap (24) of the outer case (22). A probe (30) is operably coupled to the body (26) of the outer case (22) and is selectively concealed by the cap (24). A second temperature sensor (32) is operably coupled to the probe (30). A controller (132) is communicatively coupled to each of the first temperature sensor (28) and the second temperature sensor (32). The controller (132) is configured to receive a first signal from the first temperature sensor (28) when the cap (24) is directly coupled to the body (26) of the outer case (22).

摘要: A steam generating system (10) for an appliance (2) includes a first tank (20) positioned at a first vertical position on the appliance (2), wherein the first tank (20) includes upper and lower water outlets (46, 48) that are vertically offset from one another. A second tank (22) is positioned at a second vertical position that is lower than the first vertical position of the first tank (20). The upper water outlet (46) is fluidically coupled to the second tank (22) by a first interconnecting member (50), and the lower water outlet (48) is fluidically coupled to the second tank (22) by a second interconnecting member (52, 54). A valve assembly (24) is disposed along the second interconnecting member (52, 54) and is operable between open and closed conditions to selectively provide access between the first tank (20) and the second tank (22) via the second interconnecting member (52, 54).

摘要: A steam generation system (10) includes one or more liquid reservoirs (12) and a steam generator (14) converting liquid from the liquid reservoirs (12) into steam during a steam cycle. The liquid reservoirs (12) are connected to the steam generator (14) via a first liquid line (16) and via a second liquid line (22). First and second fluid level sensors are associated with a minimum level and with a maximum level of liquid in the steam generator (14), respectively. A fill pump (20) is located along the first liquid line (16) and controls liquid exiting the liquid reservoirs (12) and entering the steam generator (14). A drainage pump (24) is located along the second liquid line (22) and controls liquid exiting the steam generator (14) and entering the liquid reservoirs (12). The steam generator (14) is connected to steam output (28) via a steam line (26). The calibration method comprises the step of estimating a flow rate of a component of the steam generation system (10) which may be the steam generator (14) or the fill pump (20) or the drainage pump (24). The flow rate of the component of the steam generation system (10) may be estimated at the beginning of a steam cycle or during a steam cycle or after a steam cycle.

摘要: The invention relates to a method (200) of controlling a steam generation system (10) which includes one or more liquid reservoirs (12), a steam generator (14) and a steam output (28). During a present steam cycle, an injection time in which a steam generator (14) injects steam is determined. The injection time is multiplied by a predetermined steam flow rate of the steam generator (14). Based on the predetermined steam flow rate and on the injection time, a quantity of liquid remaining in the liquid reservoirs (12) is determined. Based on the predetermined steam flow rate and on the quantity of liquid remaining in the liquid reservoirs (12), a remaining time is determined.

摘要: A cooking vessel (10) includes a cooking surface (12) and a lower portion (20) positioned below the cooking surface (12). A first material (30) is disposed within the lower portion (20) and is in thermal proximity to the cooking surface (12). The first material (30) increases in temperature upon absorption of electromagnetic radiation. A second material (42) is disposed within the lower portion (20) and in thermal proximity to the cooking surface (12). An electrical current is induced in the second material (42) upon exposure to an electromagnetic field. Both the first material (30) and the second material (42) are configured to heat the cooking surface (12) of the cooking vessel (10) when used in a microwave oven (50) or on an induction cooktop (80), respectively.
