摘要: A method for monitoring an electric arc furnace comprising the steps of: collecting data about operation of an electric arc furnace, the data including electrical data automatically collected from a furnace monitoring device and performance information automatically collected from at least one programmable logic computer; transmitting the collected data to a furnace monitoring system server having an operatively connected furnace monitoring viewer system; transmitting the collected data over a global computer network from the furnace monitoring system server to a web server; generating reports providing information concerning the historical operation of the furnace; and displaying the collected data and the generated reports in substantially real-time to authorized users via one or more of the furnace monitoring viewer system and the web server.

摘要: A method of making a carbon fiber includes heat treating a lignin precursor absent an active ingredient in an inert atmosphere to raise the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the precursor by at least five (5%) percent, forming a lignin precursor having an increased Tg (High Tg Lignin). The High Tg Lignin can be spun into a fiber. The fiber may then be stabilized to form a thermoset fiber. The time period for stabilizing the fiber is less than one hundred (100) hours.

摘要: A method and system automatically determines when an electrode add event occurs in an electric arc furnace having a plurality of electrode columns, each carried by an electrode positioning system. Data is received correlating to the electrical current input to the positioning motors of the plurality of electrode columns. Data is also received correlating to a defined operating mode of the electrode positioning systems. Motor electrical current data is captured when the electrode positioning system is in the defined mode and an electrode-add event is thereafter determined when a current spike is identified in the motor input current data.
