A device for processing the end yarn of a weft knitting machine capable of securely arresting and cutting crossed yarns produced in knitting a knitting fabric and properly processing end yarn after the cutting, wherein both a first gripper (11) and a second gripper (12) are movable in the longitudinal direction (16a) along the needle bed (16) of the weft knitting machine (15) and in an approaching/separating direction (16b) that approaches to and separates from the mouth portion (15a) of the needle bed (16a), switchable between a state of not holding a yarn (19) and a state of holding the yarn, and movable independently of each other. A cutter (13) cutting the yarn (19) is installed on the first gripper (11). A control means (14) controls the movements and the switching of the states of the first gripper (11), the second gripper (12), and the cutter (13) to cut the held yarn (19) with the cutter (13) with the yarn (19) held by the first gripper (11) and the second gripper (12). The end yarn produced by cutting the yarn (19) with the cutter (13) is not left in cut state, but processed by the first gripper (11) and the second gripper (12) independently of each other.

An object of the invention is to display an image having the feeling close to that of a knitted fabric actually knitted with a fuzzy knitting yarn. At least part of knitting yarn image data (1) on a knitting yarn with much fuzz (2) is divided into certain lengths in a length direction in which the knitting yarn image data (1) extends, and is divided into a mesh (5) in an intermediate yarn main frame region and meshes (3, 4) in fuzz regions on both sides thereof in a width direction. Each of the meshes (3, 4, 5) is deformed in accordance with a stitch loop (6) constituting the knitted fabric to form deformed meshes (7, 8) in the fuzz regions and a deformed mesh (9) in the yarn main frame region. In this deformation, the ratio of the deformed meshes (7, 8) in the fuzz regions to the meshes (3, 4) in the fuzz regions is set smaller than the ratio of the deformed mesh (9) in the yarn main frame region to the mesh (5) in the yarn main frame region.

An object of the invention is to provide a simulation method and a simulation apparatus of the image of a twisted yarn capable of forming an image close to the actuality. When the images of twisted threads (1, 2) are inputted, abstracted models (3, 4) of the twisted yarns having a constant elliptical cross-section are obtained as shown in (b) . A projected image (6) of the twisted yarns as shown in (c) is obtained when the models shown in (b) are viewed from the right side and one of two abstractedmodels (3, 4) located on the left side is concealed. The projected image (6) of the twisted yarns is formed by copying the images of the twisted yarns (1, 2) on to parts corresponding to the abstracted models (3, 4) of respective twisted yarns.

A method for realizing embroidery simulation which can be used as an alternative sample to an actual object. A shade is added to a stitch not to brighten the center of the stitch and to darken the opposite ends thereof as shown at (a) but to brighten a stitch A close to a light source most and to darken a stitch B remote from the light source most as shown at (b). Assuming that the light source is not located on a two-dimensional plane where the stitch exists but a light beam enters obliquely from the upper space, variation of shade is also added in the widthwise direction of a yarn similarly to the longitudinal direction thereof in order to impart three-dimensional feeling thus attaining a simulation image having highly massive feeling.
