摘要: A battery having at least one anode (14), at least one cathode (15), and at least one electrolyte (16) disposed between the anode and the cathode is presented. Each anode (14) comprises an anode current collector (11) and an anode composite material (21) which includes a first, soluble, amorphous thermoplastic polyimide, an electronic conductive filler, and an intercalation material. Each cathode (15) comprises a cathode current collector (12) and a cathode composite material (22) which includes a second soluble, amorphous, thermoplastic polyimide, an electronic conductive filler, and a metal oxide. Lastly, each electrolyte (16) comprises a third soluble amorphous, thermoplastic polyimide and a lithium salt. The process for preparing the battery comprises the steps of preparing an anode slurry, a cathode slurry, and an electrolyte solution; casting a film of the electrolyte solution to form an electrolyte layer; coating each of the anode slurry and the cathode slurry on respective current collectors to form an anode and a cathode; drying the electrolyte layer, the anode and the cathode; and assembling the electrolyte layer, anode, and cathode to form a battery.

摘要: The present invention provides systems and methods for powered video game playing cards, powered voter authentication cards, powered financial transaction cards, and methods for administering the use of each. The cards generally include a thin, flexible substrate and a battery disposed within the substrate. A dynamic token value generator and/or biometric sensor is disposed within the substrate and is powered by the battery. An electronic display is mounted on the substrate for displaying a token value generated by the dynamic token value generator. The token value is configured to be used in conjunction with a back-end token value secure identification system to provide access to secure electronic information or capabilities.

摘要: Improved battery packaging and constructions for batteries, particularly thin, flatprofile packaged batteries are provided. The battery packaging constructions may eliminate the need for soldering by providing current collector tabs coated by electrically conductive adhesive tape such as z-axis conductive tape and may provide support for current collector tabs and a regular battery perimeter by providing supportive battery packaging and/or frame materials. Better fabrication results, particularly when the batteries are used in smart cards, RFID tags, and medical devices.

摘要: A polymer matrix electrolyte (PME) includes a polyimide, at least one salt and at least one solvent intermixed. The PME is generally homogeneous as evidenced by its high level of optically clarity. The PME is stable through harsh temperature and pressure conditions. A method of forming a PME includes the steps of dissolving a polyimide in at least one solvent, adding at least one salt to the polyimide and the solvent, wherein said polyimide, salt and solvent become intermixed to form the PME, the PME being substantially optically clear.
